SLED Charges Spartanburg County Man with Bank Fraud, Prostitution, and Obstruction of Justice
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Fredrick Trent Payne, 43, with a Crime Against a Federally Chartered Financial Institution, Prostitution – 1st Offense, and Obstruction of Justice on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office requested the SLED investigation.

Payne was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General's Office.
