Lane closed on SH-55 near Banks for fire response

State Highway 55 is reduced to one-lane with a pilot car directing traffic during wildfire operations.

Travelers should expect delays on State Highway 55 near Banks as crews have closed a lane to support other agencies responding to a wildfire in the area.

Idaho Transportation Department crews are working with the Bureau of Land Management and Boise County to provide traffic control during fire operations. Traffic on SH-55 is reduced to one lane with a pilot car directing travelers through the area as emergency crews and equipment move on and off the highway.

These traffic controls help provide firefighters and emergency personnel safe access to the area while keeping traffic moving. Travelers should expect delays, slow down, and watch for emergency personnel and equipment near the roadway.
